Wow, It’s been nearly 3 months since my last post!  I apologize for being MIA, my life has been quite hectic for me lately.   Sad to say but WRIXEL has been low on my priorities list due to several reasons.  So what have I been up to?  Let me bring you up to speed…

1) Good-bye Take 2 Interactive

Well I guess we’ll start from the top, I QUIT my lovely job at Take 2 Interactive.  After several game releases and a lot of fun times, I’ve decided to move on to something new.  I started working at Take 2 as a financial analyst and learned an immense amount of knowledge from the team over there.

Here is a shout out to my teammates who really have helped me: Thanks, SC, AF and AB!

I learned a lot of Hyperion (financial reporting systems) and just the ins and outs of the 2K gaming studios.  Video Games are vital part of my life but the financial side of the industry it is very cut and dry.  It’s fun to play and write about games but the actual process of creating budgets and managing expenses is another story.  In any case, I tried to break into the creative side of the gaming industry which lead me to the Sunshine state…California!  I visited California for a bit and tried to see what I could find out there! And that leads us to..

2.  BLIZZCON 2010 !!!

One of my best friends, John, works at Blizzard so I decided to visit him for a mini-vacation!  I also used this time to check out Irvine, CA and also try to see if I could get any job leads in CALI.  I got a private tour of the Blizzard campus and it was stellar!   I couldn’t take a lot of pictures in specific areas because it was “TOP SECRET”.   Overall my trip was a blast, the food was great, the people were cool, and Blizzard was amazing.

Any company that has a giant orc wolf raider in front of their building is OK in my book!

I don’t want this entry to change into a Blizzard/Blizzcon entry so I will post more pictures and details about Blizzcon in a separate post.

3) The Cataclysm…of my gaming life.

Lets get back to the gaming!  During the past 3 months the only games I’ve played are: Starcraft 2 and WoW:  Cataclysm… In a sense World of Warcraft: Cataclysm and has been the downfall of my gaming career.  My Xbox 360/PS3 are collecting dust and I have many games that are still factory sealed…ie. Fable 3.  I’ve invested a lot of my video game time into the NEW World of Warcraft expansion “Cataclysm”.  I’ve been on and off with WoW over the years.  Its been a strange love/hate relationship but because my closest friends are all playing, I’ve also decided to join the FRAY.  I currently have 2 characters, a level 85 HOLY PALADIN and a 75 Elemental Shaman.  Cata has solved a lot of the issues I had with the previous versions.  Without getting into a full review, lets just say I’ve happy with the expansion.

4) New Job @ McCann WorldGroup

After I got back from Cali, I continued my job search.  At this point I had some bills piling up and I needed a source of income.  After about a month of interviews, rejection and recruiting correspondence I managed to get lucky and got a  McCann Worldgroup.  McCann Worldgroup is one of the leading advertising companies in the world.  They have a global presence and I was presented with a great opportunity with a lot of room for growth.  I started in Dec. and I’m working hard!

5) Conclusion and the Future

SO that’s my been my life for the past 3 months! Phew!   In the future here what’s on the agenda for WRIXEL:

-          Still Fixing old posts, which were crippled by a virus… YOU BASTARDS!

-          I’m going to try to make a map on SC2.  Gonna try to blog about creating Starcraft 2 MAPS

-          Special Giveaway Events! Everyone loves this stuff J

-          Possibly messing with video uploads / podcasts

-          Wow Cata review!

-          Blizzcon 2010 In-Depth Post

I hope to spend more time on WRIXEL in the future and definitely blog about my life and games.

SO what have YOU been up to?  Any good gaming recommendations?  Have you tried WoW Cataclysm?  How has your last 3 months gone?
